Thank you to all the talented women playwrights who submitted plays and monologues to the festival. We were absolutely bowled over with your work. We had hundreds upon hundreds of submissions and have narrowed down the festival to 6 pieces to be produced April 29-May 2, 2010:
Found Knives and Spoons by Carey Crim
Top of the Hour by Kitty Felde
Without Regard to New Orleans by Barbara Bryan
The Recipe by D Lee Miller
Pake's Palace by Carlynn Trout
Eden by Claudia Barnett
Keep writing, keep sending out your plays to theatre companies. Again, thank you.

Independent Actors Theatre is holding auditions for Dead Man’s Cell Phone by Sarah Ruhl
Fine
Arts Annex Room 116 on the MU Campus (northeast corner of Hitt and
University Streets) on Tuesday, December 15, at 7 pm.
Auditions will
consist of cold readings.
An incessantly ringing cell phone in a
quiet café. A stranger at the next table who has had enough. And a dead
man-with a lot of loose ends. So begins Dead Man's Cell Phone, a wildly
imaginative new comedy by playwright Sarah Ruhl, recipient of a
MacArthur "Genius" Grant and Pulitzer Prize finalist for her play The
Clean House. A work about how we memorialize the dead-and how that
remembering changes us-it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront
her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect
in a technologically obsessed world.
Director: Emily Rollie
Roles 2 Men: 1 - late 30s-40s /1 - 40s-50s 4 Women: 2 - 30s/ 1 - 30s-50s, 1 - 60s |

Thank you to all who auditioned for Doubt. The immense amount of talent made casting a challenge. Please keep coming out to auditions. Our next show will be Dead Man's Cell Phone in February 2010. Keep checking the website or join our facebook group or fanpage for updates. I apologize for not posting sooner...my phone died yesterday, broke in half is more like it, which made communication challenging. Anywhoo...the cast list:

Season Three - almost! All I can say is this: there will be plays, there will be a 2nd annual short Women's Play Festival, and there may be some surprises. We'll announce by the end of July.
